Northwest Christian Church Youth Ministries Ministry Leader: Pastor Michael Chrisman Purpose: To lead youth into a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ. R.U.S.H. Youth Ministry ~ Rising Up, Serving Him ~ Join us or see more activity information on Facebook - Click Here 6th – 12th Grade We are Rising Up unashamed of what we believe, so it’s important that we know what we believe, and then in response to God’s grace we’re Serving Him the best we can. Equipping and edifying our teens is very important to NWCC. We believe families are the foundation that leads teenagers to become spiritually mature Christian adults, so we strive to involve the parents in the Youth Ministry and encourage ministry in their homes too. There are youth meetings with Biblical education, prayer, worship, and fellowship to build family. In Sunday school we dive deeper into God’s Word, plus we have services/missions opportunities, a youth praise band and we take part in activities such as summer camp, Christ in Youth (CIY) conferences, and a host of other activities. Teens will have many opportunities to serve and grow here at NWCC, and we always have a GREAT time in the process. Additional information: † Middle and High school students in Sunday school are currently studying the Bible through the “Encounter” curriculum by Standard Publishing. † The youth group meets at the church for “R.U.S.H.” on Saturday nights (except the 1st of the month or when there are other activities). We invite all young people to join us for a fun and awesome night, with D-Groups (Discipleship Groups) looking at life from God’s perspective, music, games/challenges, plus snacks and drinks. Bring a friend, come meet some new friends or just come out to see what we’re all about. R.U.S.H. is just a place to hang out and be yourself. So come and join us as we would love to have you. † There are periodically service projects, home Bible studies, prayer meetings, lock-in/late night youth events with other churches around the city to build family within the larger community of believers, and many other activities. We also strive to attend each other’s activities. † Students are encouraged to develop leadership, attend Christian camps (at Prairie View Christian Camp), Bible Colleges, and conferences. Key verses: 1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV) 12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Mark 12:29-31 (NIV) 29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Matthew 28:19 (NIV) 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mark 10:45 (NIV) 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
